Description
Many parents wonder how to weave Buddhist teachings into the fabric of family life. Bringing children to temple, enrolling them in Dharma School, chanting together before the butsudan — these are all meaningful entry points. But in this talk, I want to suggest something that may seem counterintuitive: that the most powerful way to share the Dharma with our children is not to teach it at all. When we ourselves are immersed in the teachings and practices of Buddhism — when the Dharma shapes how we speak, how we respond to difficulty, how we treat others — we don’t need to explain that we are Buddhist. Our children will simply see it. The Dharma transmits not through instruction, but through presence. In other words: talk less. Show up more.
